Welcome here! My name is Lii Sjölander and I work as an artist and medium in Jönköping. Both my creative and spiritual side have been with me my whole life - but it took me many years to dare to explore and share both with the outside world. Today I have understood that they are connected, they are permeated by soul and heart, by intuition, warmth and energy. I am 39 years old and live in Jönköping, where I also have my atelier, studio, reception and showroom (dear space has many names...). I am open and accept visits upon request, so do not hesitate to contact me if you are curious about paintings or my medial services.
The artistry:
I think I was born with pen and paper in hand? Never played with dolls or cars when I was little, only colors and drawings interested me. The love of creativity and creation has followed me in my professional choices throughout my life, but I lost painting somewhere along the way. Thought it was no idea for me to paint, "I don't know how to anyway..".
At the beginning of 2022, durin a long-term sick leave, I still ordered a beginner's kit with acrylic paint & canvases and look, here I am today. A living proof that you are often your own biggest obstacle, that you don't know until you've tried and that dreams can certainly come true!
Mediumship:
My name is Lii Sjölander, I'm a Swedish artist who lives and have my studio in Jönköping. I mainly paint in acrylics but like to experiment with both materials and techniques to create pigments, depth and structure. I have an insatiable curiosity and hunger to try new things, do more, do differently. That's why my art spreads a little with color and shape sometimes, but it's like life in general I think?
I move in the abstract sphere, some of my paintings are completely abstract, while in others you can sense motifs, landscapes and sometimes even details in the form of souls, buildings or boats. Usually I paint in natural tones; brown, beige and white, but sometimes the soul screams for color and then it is usually a work in green, blue or rust/orange. Sharp contrasts and clear colors are mixed with earthy and soft tones, the daily form sets the agenda.
My works are influenced by what I see around me; color, shape, light and shades. I let my heart and soul guide the process. I paint what I feel, what I need to relieve. I paint dreams, sorrows, reality, light and darkness.
My hope is that you as a viewer will be able to find something that appeals, creates a mood or evokes emotions in you when you see my paintings. If I succeed in that, then my goal is achieved.
